Jakarta, VIVA – A brutal incident occurred involving a lawyer in the Palem Semi housing complex, Karawaci. The victim, named Bastian Sori, was stabbed by a man suspected to be a debt collector, sustaining serious injuries to his abdomen.
The bloody incident occurred after the victim was involved in a dispute with several people who claimed they were there to repossess a vehicle.
The tense moments were recorded by the victim’s wife on her mobile phone. In the circulating video, two men, suspected to be the perpetrators, are seen hurriedly entering a white car before fleeing the scene.
Another recording shows the victim sitting and holding his blood-soaked abdomen. The blue shirt he was wearing appears to be wet. A panicked atmosphere erupted as the wife screamed for help.
“Police, please help, my husband has been stabbed. Please, please,” the victim’s wife cried, as quoted on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
In the following video, the victim is seen lying weakly on a hospital bed. Medical personnel are seen busy treating his stab wounds.
This case is being handled by the Crime and Violence Sub-Directorate of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police. Police acted quickly and successfully arrested the suspected perpetrator, identified as JBI, in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at approximately 23:50 WIB.
The Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the arrest. The perpetrator is currently undergoing intensive questioning.
“The suspected perpetrator of the stabbing of the victim, who is a lawyer in the Kelapa Dua area, South Tangerang, has been successfully apprehended,” he said.
The victim, identified as BS, is known to have suffered serious stab wounds and received immediate medical treatment. The incident began with a dispute regarding the repossession of a vehicle by individuals claiming to be debt collectors.
Budi affirmed that the police are responding quickly to every act of violence. He also reminded that debt collection must not be carried out outside of legal mechanisms and must not be accompanied by intimidation.
