Lawyer Kamaruddin Simanjuntak Dies

News of mourning has come from Indonesia’s legal profession. Lawyer Kamaruddin Simanjuntak died today.

His death was confirmed by fellow lawyer Martin Lukas Simanjuntak, who said Kamaruddin died in the early hours of the morning.

“Shalom, it is true that he returned to the Father’s house in heaven at 3am WIB,” Martin said when contacted on Monday (19 October 2026).

Martin said Kamaruddin died at Pelni Hospital in Central Jakarta. His body is to lie in state at the Ukrida funeral home.

“The funeral arrangements are still awaiting agreement among the family,” Martin said.

Martin added that Kamaruddin had been dealing with an illness for the past several years.

“He has been undergoing regular dialysis for several years,” he said.

Kamaruddin Simanjuntak became familiar to the public after joining the legal team in the shooting case involving former Propam Division chief Ferdy Sambo. At the time, he represented the family of Yosua Hutabarat.
