Lawyer: Jokowi to Attend Trial, Bringing Diplomas from Primary School to UGM Graduation

Solo - The lawyer for Joko Widodo, Yakup Hasibuan, has revealed that his client, the 7th President of Indonesia, will appear directly before the panel of judges in the alleged fake diploma case involving Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as dr Tifa, and Roy Suryo. Yakup made the statement after meeting Jokowi to update him on the defamation case against the former president. Yakup explained that his client wishes to present authentic evidence in the form of educational diplomas that have been the subject of the lawsuit. “Mr Jokowi wants to attend the trial later to bring his diplomas from primary school, junior high school, and the diplomas that have been confiscated as evidence, namely from senior high school and UGM,” said Yakup after meeting Jokowi at his residence in Banjarsari, Solo, on Monday (13/7/2026). Although he has stated his intention to attend, Yakup mentioned that the exact timing of Jokowi’s appearance will depend on the arrangements made by the panel of judges and the public prosecutor. However, Yakup noted that Jokowi will be present during the evidentiary hearing phase of the trial.
