Lawyer: Febrie Adriansyah does not know Lucy named by Tan Kian

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The lawyer for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, Febri Diansyah, has asserted that his client does not know the figure named Lucy mentioned by property businessman Tan Kian.

“Mr FA (Febrie Adriansyah) is very far removed, unconnected and does not know the person named Lucy,” he said at the Attorney General’s Main Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The name Lucy emerged in the suspected investigation case file (BAP) of Tan Kian.

In the case file, Tan Kian admitted feeling pressured after becoming entangled in suspected corruption cases involving PT ASABRI and Jiwasraya handled by the Attorney General’s Office. He was introduced by Lucy Kweek to someone with the ability to resolve matters at the Attorney General’s Special Crimes unit, namely Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang (Boboho).

Tan Kian then gave Singapore dollars worth Rp40 billion to Ferry to resolve the matter. He stated that the money could have been given to four prosecutor’s office officials, one of whom was Febrie Adriansyah.

In view of this, Febri Diansyah believes the figure of Lucy must be further identified by investigators on the Attorney General’s Team 9.

“Whether this Lucy is closer to Tan Kian or to Ferry, I don’t think it is our domain to clarify that. We leave it, we give law enforcers the space as widely and objectively as possible to shed light on this case,” he said.

Previously, Febri had also asserted that his client did not receive Rp40 billion as claimed by Tan Kian in the case file.

According to him, in the case file Tan Kian actually used the words ‘could have’ and merely suspected that the money was given to four named officials at the Attorney General’s Office.

“This is Tan Kian’s case file. In fact, Tan Kian never explicitly stated that the Rp40 billion payment was intended for Mr FA. Never,” said Febri.

Febri said Tan Kian actually gave the money to a person named Ferry. However, it is not known whether the money was subsequently used or kept by Ferry or by another party.
