Lawyer Claims Police Have Identified Suspect in Murder of Female Student in Mataram Boarding House

Police have reportedly identified a potential suspect in the murder of University of Mataram student Nadya Dwi Ramadhany (21). Nadya was killed in her boarding house in Gamong Village, Selaparang District, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The information regarding the police having a suspect’s name was conveyed by the family’s legal counsel, Lalu Anton Hariawan, after visiting the Mataram Police with Nadya’s mother, Eny Widyawati. “From the results of our discussion earlier, we see that they have already identified the potential suspect. However, there are several things we have agreed not to disclose as they are part of the investigator’s confidentiality,” Anton stated. Anton declined to reveal the number of potential suspects in Nadya’s murder. He only disclosed that the police had requested time to officially name the suspect. “They asked us for time so that after this is completed, a case conference will be held. (The investigation) is almost complete, only a few witness examinations need to be deepened,” Anton explained. Anton noted that the investigation into Nadya’s murder has been quite lengthy. According to him, the process has taken time because the police are being cautious in their handling. “The death of NDR is not like other murder cases. There are no witnesses, but they have already gathered all the circumstantial evidence. The investigators have secured all the clues,” Anton clarified. Nadya’s mother, Eny Widyawati, hopes the perpetrator is arrested soon. “The family’s hope is that this case is quickly solved, the perpetrator is found, and punished as severely as possible,” Eny said while holding Nadya’s photograph. Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police, AKP I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, declined to comment at length on the statement. “It is still in process,” he replied briefly. Nadya was found dead in her boarding house room in Gomong Village, Selaparang District, Mataram, NTB, on 17 May 2026. The body of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) student at the University of Mataram was first discovered by a friend who came looking for her. Nadya was found lying on her back and had begun to decompose. At the time, her boarding house room was locked, and her mobile phone and motorcycle were missing.
