Lawsuit Regarding MPR Quiz Competition Hearing Postponed Until Next Week
The lawsuit regarding the organisation of the 2026 MPR 4-Pillar Quiz Competition (LCC) for the West Kalimantan level has been postponed until Tuesday, 9 June. Presiding Judge Ummi Kusuma Putri stated that the hearing was delayed because the defendants have not yet completed their legal standing documentation for submission to the Panel of Judges.
“We request that everything be finalised first, and once the legal standing is sufficient, we will proceed to the next stage. The essence is that everything must be clear before we move forward,” the Presiding Judge stated in the Soejadi courtroom at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (2/6).
During the session, the plaintiff, David Tobing, requested that the hearing proceed as all parties were present. However, the Panel of Judges rejected this request, insisting that the original power of attorney from each defendant be submitted first.
“Our practice is to complete everything first. The point is that everything must be clear before we move to the next stage. Sometimes, after mediation, we might forget to request the original power of attorney,” explained the Presiding Judge.
“Therefore, for the next meeting, we will focus on completing the legal standing of the defendants. The hearing is adjourned until Tuesday, 9 June 2026.”
Previously, the Chairman of the MPR, Ahmad Muzani, was sued at the Central Jakarta District Court following controversy surrounding the final round of the 2026 West Kalimantan Provincial 4-Pillar Quiz Competition. The Spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, Sunoto, noted that the lawsuit was filed by David Tobing and registered under number 335/Pdt.G/2026/PN Jkt.Pst.
In addition to Muzani, David is also suing the judges and MCs involved in the final event, namely Dyasita Widya Budi, Indri Wahyuni, and Shindy Luthfiana. In his petition, David requested the Panel of Judges to grant the lawsuit in its entirety and declare that the defendants have committed unlawful acts. He further requested that Defendant I (Ahmad Muzani) dishonourably dismiss Defendants II (Dyasita Widya Budi) and III (Indri Wahyuni) from their roles as employees of the MPR RI, and prohibit Defendants II and III from serving as judges in official state activities at regional, central, or national levels.
