Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Rajiv has urged law enforcement to accelerate the handling of an alleged kidnapping and torture case involving a 29-year-old woman, identified as YTR, in Bandung Regency. He stressed that the legal process must proceed swiftly while ensuring adequate support for the victim.

Rajiv said the case, which has drawn public attention, concerns humanitarian aspects and the protection of victims of violence. “I ask the police to deploy all their best capabilities to immediately arrest the perpetrator. The DPO (Wanted Persons List) status that has been issued must be followed up promptly so the legal process can proceed as it should,” Rajiv stated on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

The legislator from the West Java II electoral district emphasised that the state must guarantee protection for the victim while ensuring the legal process is transparent and in accordance with applicable regulations. He added that if all criminal elements are proven in court, the perpetrator must be held accountable under the law.

Beyond law enforcement, Rajiv highlighted the need for serious attention to the victim’s condition. He commended the efforts of medical personnel, the local government, and other parties currently providing assistance. “The physical, psychological, and social recovery of the victim must be a shared priority,” he said, expressing hope that the victim would receive optimal recovery services to return to a normal life within her family and community.

Rajiv also encouraged members of the public who may have information regarding the perpetrator’s whereabouts to report it to law enforcement to aid the investigation. He noted that the case serves as a reminder of the importance of strengthening protections for women and victims of violence, and ensuring that every report of violent crime receives a swift and appropriate response.
