- Anti-Corruption Commission: After extortion, Cilacap regent planned to distribute holiday bonuses of Rp20-100 million
Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) disclosed that Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, after carrying out extortion and receiving the proceeds, intended to distribute holiday allowances (THR) to the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) ranging from Rp20-100 million.
“Some received Rp100 million, Rp50 million, like that. So each forkopimda member received different amounts, with some receiving as little as Rp20 million,” said KPK Deputy of Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Saturday (14 March) evening.
- Anti-Corruption Commission: Regional apparatus transferred funds to Cilacap regent out of fear
Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission stated that work units of the regional apparatus within the Cilacap District Government, Central Java, decided to transfer the extorted funds to Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman (AUL) because they feared being replaced.
“There was concern that if they did not comply with AUL’s demands, they would be removed from office and replaced, and so forth,” explained Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, Saturday (14 March) evening.

Jakarta — Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, known as Cak Imin and the General Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Central Board, stated he was shocked to learn that Cilacap Regent and PKB member Syamsul Auliya Rachman had become a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving extortion.
“We are saddened by this. We did not expect it,” said Cak Imin at the PKB Central Board Building, Jakarta, Sunday.

Surabaya — National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that President Prabowo Subianto has ordered a thorough, professional and transparent investigation into the alleged acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, employing scientific investigation methods.
