Law Ministry records positive public service performance in first half of 2026
No decision is made without passing through the policy strategy recommendations of the BSK Ministry of Law.
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Ministry of Law has recorded positive performance across various main units throughout the first half of 2026, ranging from legal administration services, legal aid, and intellectual property to human resource development.
Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated in Jakarta on Saturday that the Policy Strategy Agency (BSK) has become a vital unit in decision-making within the Ministry of Law, as all policies are based on valid analysis and evidence.
“Not a single decision is taken without passing through the policy strategy recommendations from the BSK of the Ministry of Law,” said Supratman.
According to him, all decisions made are not based on personal initiative, but rather refer to facts, data, and recommendations prepared by the BSK.
Nevertheless, he emphasised that these achievements have not made the Ministry of Law complacent, as approximately one per cent of applications remain unresolved.
“From approximately 10 million services in AHU (Legal Administrative Affairs) each year, one per cent means there are still about 100,000 services that have not been completed,” he said.
To accelerate the resolution of public service applications, the Ministry of Law has initiated the ‘Pasti Ada Solusi’ (There is Always a Solution) programme, held every Friday.
Through this programme, the public can directly convey obstacles faced in the service process to the Minister of Law to find a resolution.
Supratman stated that his office will also establish collaborations with other ministries and agencies, including the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Attorney General’s Office, to ensure that legal services and access to justice can be provided in an integrated manner.
“I will speak with the Police and the Attorney General’s Office so that all processes related to legal services and access to justice can be unified and we can collaborate across agencies,” he said.
In the field of intellectual property, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) is strengthening cooperation with ministries, agencies, universities, and business actors to increase intellectual property protection while accelerating the processing of public applications.
He noted that Indonesia has also become the country with the highest number of geographical indication registrations in the ASEAN region, having previously held second place.
Additionally, the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) was deemed successful in organising various competency development programmes for officials, while the Inspectorate General continues to strengthen internal oversight functions.
Supratman emphasised that the Ministry of Law is committed to following up on all findings, whether from internal oversight or audits by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK).
Regarding organisational governance, he stated that the secretariat function has implemented a merit system in human resource management to encourage the participation of all work units in policy-making.
To strengthen internal communication, the Ministry of Law will hold a town hall meeting involving approximately 7,900 employees.
“We want to form a solid team in order to realise the President’s ambition, which is a bureaucracy that serves,” said Supratman.
