Palu — The Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, Supratman Andi Agtas, will soon implement and enforce 100 per cent full digitalisation for 470 types of public services within the Ministry, starting from 1 October 2026.

“This is a form of efficiency, including the reduction of manual paper-based services towards a paperless system within the Ministry of Law,” Supratman stated in Palu on Sunday.

According to him, the Ministry of Law will no longer be permitted to accept public service applications or physical documents in paper format. Moving forward, all service products, including statutory decrees, will be issued and delivered in digital format.

He noted that the efficiency gained from eliminating the use of paper and office stationery will be significant. “This is certainly the only way to achieve efficiency, save budgets, and avoid corrupt practices: through the digitalisation of public services,” he said.

Suprisingly, Supratman mentioned that this digital transformation was inspired by the efficiency of the banking industry, which has successfully migrated almost all transaction activities and customer services to mobile banking applications.

The implementation of an integrated digital system will also facilitate the real-time monitoring of Civil Servant (ASN) performance. “Through digitalisation, the performance of approximately 8,000 employees within the Ministry of Law can be monitored daily, tracking who is working and who is not. We encourage local governments, including the Palu City Government, to continue moving towards digital government or e-government,” he added.
