Law Minister Supratman: President Wants Bureaucracy to Bridge the Gap Between Servants and the Public
Bandung, VIVA – The Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, has asserted that bureaucracy must not become an obstacle for the public in accessing public services. He stated that the government must bring services closer to the people, rather than the other way around.
This was revealed by Minister Supratman during the opening of the 2026 Impactful AHU Service Festival in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday, 29 August 2026. The event served as a direct meeting space between the public and legal administration officers, while also introducing the transformation of services from manual to digital systems.
“President Prabowo Subianto wants bureaucracy and services to not limit the distance between the servants and those being served,” Supratman said, as reported on Sunday, 30 August 2026.
According to Supratman, this festival is an effort by the Ministry to take a proactive approach. The government should not merely provide services in offices but must ensure that the public understands and can access these services easily.
This transformation is marked by the availability of 470 digital legal services from the Ministry of Law through the ‘PASTI’ application. With these services, the public no longer needs to visit the Ministry of Law offices in Jakarta or regional offices to obtain assistance.
“There are now 470 legal services from the Ministry of Law that can be accessed via the ‘PASTI’ super app. You do not need to come to the Ministry of Law in Jakarta or the regional office in West Java,” he said.
The Impactful AHU Service Festival also provided various services directly. The public could obtain information and consult on services regarding Individual Companies, apostille and legalisation, notary services, fiduciary, and several other legal services.
Education regarding criminal services, including Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS), clemency, and dactyloscopy, was also provided.
Supratman emphasised that this change must be accompanied by a shift in mindset among all Ministry of Law officials. They must position themselves as servants of the public.
“Believe me, all the efforts we make are solely because we are all servants of the public. Therefore, we will provide the best. If there is anything lacking, please let us know,” Supratman said.
The Director General of General Legal Administration, Widodo, stated that the festival was intentionally designed not merely as a service exhibition. The public was given space to express their needs as well as the legal issues they face.
