Law Minister pushes to optimise legal services in NTT
Kupang, NTT (ANTARA) — Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas has pushed for improved coordination and optimisation of legal services in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province through a series of working visits, particularly in Kupang, from Wednesday (18 February) to Thursday (19 February).
The Law Minister was welcomed by officials from the NTT Regional Office of the Ministry of Law (Kanwil Kemenkum), including NTT Regional Head Silvester Sili Laba, along with senior leaders and regional staff.
“This visit is part of the ministry’s agenda to ensure legal services are running optimally and delivering real benefits to the public,” said NTT Kanwil Kemenkum Head Silvester in Kupang on Wednesday.
He explained that the Law Minister’s presence demonstrated attention and support for the execution of ministerial duties and functions in the archipelago-based province.
The visit also served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination between central leadership and regional staff to enhance organisational effectiveness.
During the visit, the Law Minister was set to attend the inauguration of 3,442 Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) and the simultaneous Kick Off of paralegal activities across NTT, representing a commitment to improving public service quality and extending access to justice down to the grassroots level. The inauguration marks a concrete step in bringing legal services closer to the community.
The NTT Kanwil Kemenkum expressed hope that the working visit would further strengthen the relationship between central and regional authorities and reinforce their shared commitment to delivering professional, accountable legal services oriented towards the needs of the people of NTT.
According to the working visit schedule received by ANTARA in Kupang, on Wednesday afternoon (18 February) the Law Minister, together with the Deputy Mayor of Kupang, inspected a Legal Aid Post in Oesapa Barat subdistrict at the Oesapa Barat Village Office in Kupang.
Meanwhile, on Thursday afternoon (19 February), the Law Minister was scheduled to hold a coordination meeting with regional technical agencies, inaugurate the 3,442 Legal Aid Posts, and launch the simultaneous paralegal training programme across NTT.
