Law Minister presents certificates for two geographical indications under PAS programme

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, presented certificates for the geographical indications of Paiton Voor-Oogst (VO) Tobacco from Probolinggo and Podang Lereng Wilis Mango from Kediri as part of the ‘Pasti Ada Solusi’ (PAS) programme in Surabaya, East Java, on Friday.

As monitored online from Jakarta, the presentation of the certificates, accompanied by the Director General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law, Hermansyleah Siregar, was received by the Regional Secretary of Probolinggo Regency and the Vice Regent of Kediri.

With the handover of these certificates, the number of registered geographical indications in Indonesia has now reached 263 products.

Hermansyah stated that the increase in registered geographical indication products demonstrates the expanding legal protection for flagship regional products that possess specific characteristics, quality, and reputation linked to their geographical origin.
