Lavrov and Rubio agree to continue discussions on international organisations

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have agreed to continue discussions between the two countries’ foreign ministries, including within the framework of cooperation in international organisations. “An agreement was reached to continue communication between the foreign ministries of the two countries, including within the framework of the two countries’ participation in the activities of international organisations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday. Lavrov and Rubio discussed the decision when they met on the sidelines of the ASEAN agenda in Manila, Philippines. Lavrov and Rubio also discussed the issue of normalising the working conditions of diplomatic missions between Russia and the United States. “Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio welcomed the resumption of full contacts between the state-owned companies Roscosmos and NASA, and called for the development of inter-parliamentary exchanges and cultural relations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry statement said.
