Lavish Display: Donald Trump Shows Off New Presidential Aircraft

President of the United States Donald Trump has shown off his newest Air Force One presidential aircraft. The jumbo jet, which previously belonged to the Qatari government, has been converted into the official US presidential aircraft. The new plane sheds the iconic robin’s egg blue exterior colour scheme from the Kennedy era found on the old aircraft, replacing it with a bolder look. The belly of the aircraft is painted dark blue with a red stripe above it. This new Air Force One will conduct a flypast during the 4th of July Independence Day celebrations. The aircraft, a gift from Qatar, functions as a ‘bridge’ to transport the president until new planes ordered directly from Boeing arrive in 2028. The luxurious Boeing 747 jet from Qatar was received by the US Government last year for use as a presidential aircraft, although questions arose regarding the ethics and legality of accepting such an expensive gift from a foreign government. On the left side of the aircraft, where the president boards, the official presidential seal is displayed, while the tail section is decorated with a very large American flag. Trump previously insisted that he would not use the Qatari jet for private flights after leaving office. Instead, he will donate it to a future presidential library. The US Air Force stated that any aircraft designated as Air Force One must meet strict security requirements. Meanwhile, the Qatari aircraft was modified under an engineering approach that prioritises core capabilities.
