Launch of Cross-Border QRIS Implementation to China

Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, flanked by OJK Commissioner Chairman Friderica Widyasari, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong, and BI Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta, symbolically launched the cross-border QRIS implementation to China in Jakarta on Thursday, 30 April 2026. BI is expanding the use of cross-border QRIS to China starting from Thursday, 30 April, thereby enabling inbound and outbound transactions between Indonesian and Chinese citizens through QR code scanning.
