Latumenten Flyover in West Jakarta Targeted for Completion by December 2026

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the construction of the Latumenten Flyover in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, is progressing on target and is projected to be completed by 15 December 2026. The Rp259 billion infrastructure project is a priority to address chronic congestion caused by a level railway crossing.

During a site inspection on Thursday (2/7), Pramono revealed that construction progress has currently reached 55.2 percent. The flyover is considered one of the most anticipated solutions by residents due to the very high intensity of congestion in the area, especially during morning and evening peak hours.

‘The Latumenten Flyover is one of the most awaited projects in Jakarta. Once construction is complete, the Jakarta Provincial Government will close the level crossing so that vehicles are no longer disrupted by train activity and to improve road user safety,’ said Pramono.

In addition to easing traffic density, the flyover will adopt an integrated transport concept. Supporting facilities such as a skywalk, Transjakarta bus stop, pedestrian bridge (JPO), lifts, and direct access to the KRL Station will be built to facilitate public mobility, including for persons with disabilities and the elderly.

Jakarta DPRD member Hardiyanto Kenneth added that the project is a realisation of residents’ aspirations during the 2024 recess. He is optimistic that the flyover’s presence can reduce congestion at that point by up to 40 percent through a safer and more efficient transport mode transfer system.

In line with this, Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Deputy Head Pradana Putra described the construction as an answer to residents’ decades-long wait. The intermodal integration via the skywalk is expected to mean the public no longer needs to cross amidst heavy traffic flow.
