Latumenten Flyover in West Jakarta Expected to Cut Congestion by 40 Percent

The Latumenten Flyover in West Jakarta is projected to reduce traffic congestion by 40 percent, according to a member of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). Hardiyanto Kenneth of the PDI Perjuangan faction stated that the project’s progress is on track for completion in December 2026. He made the remarks during a site inspection with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Thursday (2/7).

Kenneth explained that the flyover project originated from residents’ complaints about persistent traffic jams around the railway crossing. “This flyover is one of the most anticipated in Jakarta. Because here, morning, noon, and evening, the congestion is very high,” Governor Pramono Anung said. The project began construction in late 2025 after a study was conducted.

The flyover will be integrated with various public transport modes, including the KRL Commuter Line and Transjakarta. The design includes a skywalk equipped with lifts, disability-friendly pedestrian bridges (JPO), and a Transjakarta stop integrated with the surrounding area. Kenneth noted that the concept is designed to provide convenience for all road users, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and people carrying goods or prams.

Governor Pramono Anung confirmed that the project is a strategic priority for the Jakarta Provincial Government to improve transport infrastructure and reduce traffic density in West Jakarta. The flyover is expected to ease congestion in the Grogol, Pluit, and Slipi areas. The project has reached 55.2 percent completion with a budget of IDR 259 billion and is targeted for completion by 15 December 2026. The flyover towards Slipi is 435 metres long and 11 metres wide, with two public vehicle lanes and one busway lane. The flyover towards Grogol is 420 metres long and 11 metres wide, with a similar lane configuration.
