Latumenten Elevated Road enters precast concrete girder installation phase
Jakarta – The progress of the Latumenten Elevated Road in West Jakarta has entered the girder erection stage, the process of lifting and installing precast concrete girders as the main structural element. “This stage is an important part of forming the main structure of the elevated road that will carry the traffic load,” said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) of the Jakarta Public Works and Highways Department, in Jakarta on Thursday. She said the construction of the elevated road is aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in the West Jakarta area. Siti added that the erection work will be carried out in stages at night to minimise traffic disruption and safeguard road users during the construction. “The works are currently entering the stage of lifting and installing precast concrete girders into the planned positions on the elevated road structure using heavy equipment. The project is now 41.28 percent complete,” she said. Wenny explained that the erection works on the western side of Latumenten Road will be carried out from 18-26 May 2026, 22:00-04:00 WIB, while the works on the eastern side of Makaliwe Raya Road are scheduled for 29 May to 5 June 2026 at the same times. The Latumenten Elevated Road is 435 metres long on the western side and 426 metres on the eastern side, with a width of 11 metres. “This infrastructure is expected to enhance connectivity and streamline mobility for residents in the Latumenten area and its surroundings,” she said.
