Latest Update on Truck Collision with Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train in Batuceper: Commuter Line Resumes on Single Alternating Track
Tangerang, VIVA – A collision between a truck and a Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Basoetta) Commuter Line train at a level crossing near Poris Station, Batuceper, Tangerang, on Friday morning, 20 February 2026, temporarily paralysed train services on the Tangerang line and the route to the airport. One train set was reported to have derailed after striking a truck carrying a lifeboat that was straddling the tracks.
The incident went viral on social media after footage of the moment of impact circulated widely. The video showed the truck on the railway tracks as the airport train passed through, resulting in a violent collision.
KAI Commuter confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident. All passengers and crew were declared safe and had been evacuated from the affected train set.
To expedite the response, KAI Commuter together with KAI Regional Operations 1 Jakarta dispatched a rescue train set and technical teams to the scene to evacuate the derailed train and clear the tracks. Passengers who had already purchased airport train tickets were also offered the option of a full refund at Basoetta Commuter Line stations.
“Airport train users who already have tickets can obtain a 100 per cent refund at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line stations,” said Karina Amanda, VP of Corporate Secretary at KAI Commuter.
