The event took place at Grand City Surabaya and was attended by East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, the Board of Commissioners of Bank Jatim, the Sharia Supervisory Board of Bank Jatim, the Board of Directors of Bank Jatim, and thousands of enthusiastic members of the public who witnessed the latest digital innovations from Bank Jatim.

In his speech, Emil expressed appreciation for Bank Jatim’s commitment as a regional development bank that continues to innovate in providing inclusive, secure, and easily accessible digital financial services to all levels of society.

“It is only right that banks have an advantage in serving the public through digital means. Especially in this current era, part of society conducts transactions using gadgets and no longer uses conventional methods. Therefore, I appreciate Bank Jatim’s innovations that have worked hard to realise the latest version of JConnect,” he explained in a written statement on Monday (4/5/2026).

According to Emil, digital transformation through JConnect is a strategic step in accelerating financial literacy and inclusion in East Java, while also supporting regional economic growth.

“We are optimistic that JConnect can achieve its user target. With the launch of many new features in JConnect, we hope that the people of East Java will increasingly realise that Bank Jatim is a bank owned by the people of East Java. The latest JConnect app is an important leap that we must support together,” Emil stated.

Meanwhile, Bank Jatim President Director Winardi Legowo emphasised that JConnect is a financial service offering numerous conveniences for payment transactions.

“JConnect is a manifestation of Bank Jatim’s commitment to continuously adapt to customer needs in the digital era. We want to provide a faster, safer, more modern, and relevant banking experience for all of society,” he said.

According to Winardi, in this launch of the latest JConnect version, strengthening features is the main key. The latest JConnect version introduces 36 flagship facilities compiled based on customer needs or voice of the customer. Among them are the ease of changing passwords without having to visit a branch office and the use of biometric-based login systems that are more practical and secure. In addition, e-money card top-up services are now integrated into the app.

“Currently, the number of registered JConnect users has reached around 1,025,000. With this launch of the latest version, Bank Jatim targets significant growth to reach 2 million registered users by December 2026,” Winardi asserted.

During the three days of the JConnect Zone, public enthusiasm showed very positive results. From 1 to 3 May 2026, Bank Jatim successfully acquired users of the latest JConnect version up to more than 100,000 users. This reflects significant acceleration in the adoption of Bank Jatim’s digital services. In addition, over the three days of this grand event, Bank Jatim also recorded more than 27,000 visitors.

“This shows the high interest of the public in getting to know more closely the various features, services, and digital experiences offered by JConnect,” he emphasised.

Winardi also explained that during the JConnect Zone event, visitors were treated to various interesting activities. Starting from financial literacy talkshows, 3-on-3 basketball competitions, exhibition booths from various brands, national artist music concerts, special performances, to transaction promo programmes and attractive prizes for JConnect users.

“Through this launch, Bank Jatim further strengthens its position as a progressive, innovative BPD ready to compete in the national digital era. JConnect, connect all conveniences,” he concluded.
