Latest Evacuation of Indonesians from Iran: 13 People Successfully Repatriated

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) stated that 13 Indonesian citizens (WNI) evacuated in the third phase from Iran have arrived back in the homeland on 21 April 2026.

“Regarding the evacuation process for Indonesians in Iran, we have conducted three phases of evacuation in Iran. The latest one, 13 Indonesian citizens, arrived in the homeland on 21 April,” said Director of WNI Protection at Kemlu, Heni Hamidah, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday (30/4/2026).

Nevertheless, she said vigilance is still required.

“In emergency situations, Indonesians are advised to contact the nearest representative hotline and the WNI Protection hotline at the Centre,” she stated.

Director of WNI Protection at Kemlu, Heni Hamidah, said that these 9 Indonesians are part of the 45 Indonesians evacuated in the third phase.

She said the repatriation of the 45 Indonesians was carried out in stages over three flight batches.

“For these 45 evacuated Indonesians, they were divided into three arrival batches in Jakarta. The first batch arrived on 14 April with 14 people, then the second batch of 9 people on 15 April, and the third batch of 9 people will arrive this evening,” said Heni at the Kemlu office in Jakarta on Thursday.

Heni also said there are 13 ship crew members (ABK) whom we are accommodating in Baku awaiting the next flight to Jakarta.

“Upon arrival in the homeland, these evacuees are handed over to the Social Services and Provincial Liaison Agency for the process of returning them to their respective home regions,” she stated.

She said, based on data from the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, the number of Indonesians remaining in Iran after the evacuation is 236 people, consisting of students and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).

“The rest are PMI and expatriates who are married to local citizens,” she added.
