Latest Condition of Woman Held Captive by Boyfriend: Blind, Unable to Speak Clearly

Polda Jawa Barat has formed a special team to pursue a 30-year-old man with the initials TH, who is suspected of holding his girlfriend YTR (29) captive and torturing her. The victim has suffered blindness as a result of the assault. “The perpetrator has not yet been arrested. We have just formed this joint team,” said Polda Jabar Head of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, on Monday (22/6/2026). Hendra stated that the case is being handled by the Polda Jabar Directorate of Criminal Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) and Certain Crimes (PPO). The victim has also not yet undergone the official examination process (BAP). “The victim has not been examined because she is not yet able to communicate clearly,” he said. Hendra revealed that the victim’s eyes suffered blindness due to the abuse by the perpetrator. “The most severe injuries are that both eyes are blind. Additionally, six of her upper front teeth have been knocked out and her lip is split,” he stated. When asked about other injuries on the victim’s body, Hendra explained they were caused by punches and a sharp weapon. “It is suspected that a sharp weapon was used because the victim was struck by the perpetrator,” he said.
