Latest Condition of HS Cigarette Boss After Fatal Accident, Having Gone Through a Critical Period
Jakarta, VIVA – The boss of the HS cigarette factory, Muhammad Suryo, is reported to be gradually recovering after experiencing an accident in Kulon Progo at the beginning of March 2026. This was evident when he visited his cigarette factory in Muntilan, Magelang, on Friday, 27 March 2026.
During that occasion, Suryo shared his latest condition while announcing several company programmes. When meeting with employees, he expressed appreciation for the support he received during his recovery period.
“This is a form of my gratitude and thanks for the prayers and support from all of you. You are my motivators and what makes me strong in facing this trial. I ask that you continue to pray for my wife so that she may have a good end,” Suryo stated, as quoted from a press release on Friday, 27 March 2026.
On that occasion, Suryo also announced plans to send 150 employees to perform Umrah pilgrimage. This programme is a routine company activity that has been carried out every year, with more participants this year.
In addition, the company is preparing housing facilities or mess for disabled employees. This policy is intended to support the needs of employees from outside the area, including regions in Yogyakarta and Magelang.
Currently, there are 21 disabled employees working at the HS cigarette factory. Suryo stated that the company will continue to open job opportunities for people with disabilities without special requirements.
“For our disabled colleagues who are already working, we will build a special mess here. We will also continue to accept disabled employees from anywhere and in any number,” he said.
“Come on, disabled friends throughout Indonesia, join us. Everyone can work here without any conditions,” he added.
Suryo’s visit to the factory was welcomed by the employees. Several employees shared their responses regarding Suryo’s condition after the accident.
One employee, Sundari (63), admitted to feeling worried when she first heard the news of the accident. “Alhamdulillah, today Pak Suryo is already healthy and can be with us again,” she said.
Meanwhile, Tenyria Swastika (35), a disabled employee from Magelang, hopes that job opportunities for people with disabilities can continue to be expanded.
