Latest Condition of Andrie Yunus After Being Splashed with Caustic Liquid, Right Eyelid Still Covered
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Legal Manager and Public Relations of RSCM, Yoga Nara, has revealed the latest health condition of KontraS activist Andrie Yunus two months after he was splashed with caustic liquid in Salemba, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (12/3/2026).
According to Yoga, Andrie Yunus’s right eyelid is still temporarily covered.
“Regarding the condition of the right eye, it is currently in the stage of further treatment with temporary eyelid closure,” said Yoga in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Meanwhile, ultrasonography (USG) examination results show that the eyeball is still intact and no signs of optic nerve detachment or other severe disruptions in the posterior part of the eyeball were found.
“Periodic evaluations continue to be carried out by the ophthalmology team along with the reconstructive plastic surgery team,” Yoga stated.
Based on the evaluation results from the psychiatry and psychology team, Andrie’s current condition is within normal limits and no psychological disorders were found.
Andrie is assessed as quite capable of adapting to his physical condition and surrounding environment, as well as being cooperative during the treatment process.
Furthermore, Yoga Nara conveyed that Andrie is still under monitoring and treatment by a multidisciplinary medical team.
The medical team consists of reconstructive plastic surgery specialists, ophthalmologists, psychiatrists, and other related healthcare personnel to ensure the recovery process runs optimally and continuously.
“The patient has a history of burns on the face, neck, chest, back, and both arms due to acid chemical trauma that occurred on 12 March 2026,” Yoga explained.
During the treatment period, Andrie Yunus has undergone a series of medical procedures and surgeries gradually according to clinical needs.
The latest follow-up surgery was performed on 7 May 2026, involving tissue debridement and advanced wound closure with skin grafting procedures.
