BYD Atto 3 is an electric vehicle marketed in numerous countries, including Indonesia. The company has recently announced plans to release an updated version of the model.

According to Carnewschina.com on Monday, 16 March 2026, BYD has submitted documentation to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The new model features refreshed styling, a larger body, and a new rear-wheel drive electric platform.

The motor specified in the documentation carries the model code TZ200XSBR and is manufactured by Zhengzhou BYD Auto. The Atto 3 continues to use lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by BYD’s battery division, FinDreams, with cells produced by Wenzhou FinDreams Battery and battery pack assembly carried out by Changsha FinDreams Battery. However, battery capacity was not disclosed in the filing.

The documentation indicates that the latest Atto 3 will reach a maximum speed of 190 km/h. Driver assistance hardware has been expanded with optional additional sensors.

BYD is reportedly equipping the vehicle with the second-generation Blade Battery technology supporting ultra-fast charging capability. According to reports, the battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes.

Dimensional changes represent the most significant update to this electric vehicle. The latest Atto 3 has a length of 4,665 mm, width of 1,895 mm, height of 1,675 mm, and wheelbase of 2,770 mm. The SUV has a kerb weight of 1,690 kg and a gross vehicle weight rating of 2,115 kg.

The current model has a length of 4,455 mm, width of 1,875 mm, height of 1,615 mm, and wheelbase of 2,720 mm, with a kerb weight of 1,680 kg and gross vehicle weight rating of 2,090 kg.

The Atto 3 is one of BYD’s best-selling models. According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers (Gaikindo), during 2025, the Atto 3 sold 2,991 units, ranking it as the 11th best-selling electric vehicle in Indonesia for that year.
