Last Day Tomorrow! PLN Offers 50% Discount on Power Capacity Upgrades
Jakarta - PT PLN (Persero) is offering a 50% discount on electricity power capacity upgrades until 25 August 2026. The promotion, titled ‘Merdeka Daya’, is being held to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the promotion is a form of appreciation to customers as well as providing convenience for people who need additional electricity capacity to support various activities at home or in business.
‘We interpret the spirit of independence by providing easier access to electricity for the public through the Merdeka Daya programme. PLN wants to provide relief on the cost of power capacity upgrades so that people are more comfortable using electrical energy to support daily activities or develop business activities,’ Darmawan said, quoted from an official statement on Monday (24/8/2026).
Through the promotion, customers can obtain a discount of up to 50% on power capacity upgrade fees. As an illustration, a customer with an initial capacity of 450 Volt Ampere (VA) who wishes to increase capacity to 7,700 VA only needs to pay Rp3,512,625, lower than the normal price of Rp7,025,250.
PLN Director of Retail and Commerce M. Fahrur Rozy explained that the power capacity upgrade promotion applies to low-voltage single-phase customers from all tariff groups, with initial capacity from 450 VA to 5,500 VA and capacity increases up to a maximum of 7,700 VA.
‘This promotion is intended for low-voltage single-phase customers in all tariff groups, with initial capacity starting from 450 VA to 5,500 VA and can increase capacity up to a maximum of 7,700 VA. Customers must also have been registered as PLN customers before 1 August 2026 and have settled all electricity bills and other obligations,’ Rozy explained.
To obtain the promotion, customers simply need to make at least one electricity token purchase or electricity bill payment through the PLN Mobile application during the promotion period.
After the transaction is successful, customers will receive an e-voucher for the power capacity upgrade discount that can be used to apply for a power capacity upgrade through PLN Mobile.
‘The entire process can be done through PLN Mobile. Customers simply make a transaction through the application to obtain an e-voucher, then use the voucher when applying for a power capacity upgrade,’ said Rozy.
Each PLN Mobile account can obtain a maximum of four e-vouchers, with each Customer ID valid for one promotion. E-vouchers can be claimed through the ‘Claim Voucher’ feature on the power capacity upgrade promotion banner in the PLN Mobile application.
Rozy added that the promotion programme does not include changes to the distribution network, phase changes, tariff group changes, or changes in service type. The promotion cannot be combined with other connection fee promotions.
‘We invite customers to take advantage of this opportunity. The presence of the power capacity upgrade promotion in the context of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence can provide benefits and make people more comfortable in using electricity,’ Rozy concluded.
