Language Agency Distributes 4,000 Copies of Children's Reading Materials in Aceh
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Language Development and Cultivation Agency (Badan Bahasa) of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has distributed 4,000 copies of children’s reading materials to various schools and reading parks in Aceh province.
The Head of the Language Agency of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Hafidz Muksin, in Banda Aceh on Monday, stated that the distribution of thousands of books or reading materials is intended to enhance children’s creativity in Aceh province, especially for those affected by disasters.
“There are 4,000 copies of books that we are distributing in Aceh province. The distribution of books or reading materials will continue. The Minister has a policy to provide book assistance to disaster-affected Aceh,” he said.
Hafidz Muksin stated that the book distribution aims to increase children’s interest in reading. The books are not textbooks, but contain content on science, technology, arts, culture, and more.
The distributed books, he said, consist of 10 titles. These titles were selected from the results of a competition. The book titles are chosen according to grade levels and school stages, from lower to higher classes.
“The distributed books contain material focused on efforts to enhance children’s creativity,” he said.
According to Hafidz Muksin, the book materials are composed with words or sentences that are easy for children to understand. This aims to prevent children from getting bored with reading and to improve their comprehension.
“The book distribution also aims to enhance literacy from an early age, so that children enjoy reading. This is also an effort to produce quality human resources in the future,” said Hafidz Muksin.
