Language Agency and DWP of Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Strengthen Women's Empowerment

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Language Development and Cultivation Agency (Badan Bahasa) is collaborating with the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to strengthen women’s empowerment literacy by organising a book review of The Power of Language. Head of the Language Agency of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), Hafidz Muksin, stated that education serves as the primary means of women’s empowerment through strengthening character, literacy, and gender equality, allowing women to participate fully in the realms of politics, economy, society, culture, and language. “As part of education, language and literature naturally play an important role in building media, shaping awareness, sharpening critical thinking and intellect, as well as providing space for reflection on women’s contributions to social life, education, culture, and the nation,” said Hafidz when delivering his report at the Launching of the Women’s Empowerment Month through Education event at the Badan Bahasa Office of Kemendikdasmen, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday. Through this activity, Badan Bahasa and DWP Kemendikdasmen aim to enrich linguistic knowledge, strengthen women’s empowerment in the field of literacy, and present reflective and inspirational dialogue forums on the power of language in shaping ways of thinking and communicating. “Through this forum, women’s agendas, language, literature, and literacy are brought together in one public discussion space that enriches the educational ecosystem,” said Hafidz. Furthermore, the collaboration between Badan Bahasa and DWP Kemendikdasmen is expected to expand the reach of literacy campaigns, strengthen networks in the fields of language and education, and provide public learning spaces that reinforce women’s empowerment through language and literacy.
