Landslide Threatens Residential Settlements in Semarang

The condition of the alternative connector road between Ungaran, Semarang Regency, and Mranggen, Demak Regency, which has been severed due to a landslide in Kalongan Village, Semarang Regency, Central Java, was observed on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

The severance of the inter-regency connector road occurred gradually from February 2022 until February 2026 as a result of high-intensity rainfall, which triggered soil movement and a landslide approximately 250 metres in length and 100 metres in depth. The landslide directly threatens residential settlements located approximately 20 metres away.
