Landslide isolates village
BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The Paraman Atas Village in
Sungai Pinang Subdistrict, South Kalimantan has been isolated
eight months following a landslide that badly damaged a road
connecting the village to others in January.
The landslide has cut the transportation to the village,
causing villagers to go out of the village on foot.
"Villagers have difficulties transporting their harvests to
the urban areas," Suriansyah, head of the village, said on
Saturday.
He said he has reported on the village's isolation to the
Martapura administration but so far, the local administration has
yet to give attention to repair the cut road. --Antara
