The train journey has been disrupted again. This time, a landslide in the Maswati-Sasaksat track section, West Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (1/4) caused the Ciremai train service, running between Semarang Tawang and Bandung, to be halted.

The incident forced the Ciremai train to stop temporarily at the affected location, precisely at KM 142+8/9. This disruption occurred due to heavy rain and natural conditions at the site, which are beyond the operational control of PT Kereta Api Indonesia.

Reports of the incident were received by PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung from the Ciremai train crew at 14:53 WIB. Officers immediately coordinated intensively to ensure the safety of train operations and to handle the situation on the ground.

The Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, stated that customer safety is the top priority in all operational conditions.

“We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by Ciremai train passengers due to this journey disruption. Currently, the train journey must stop temporarily as a safety measure, while awaiting the completion of handling at the location,” he said.

He added that the entire KAI Daop 2 Bandung Emergency Response Team has moved quickly to prepare handling measures, including evacuation efforts and clearing landslide material from the tracks.

Infrastructure officers along with related teams have been deployed to the location to handle the track section and carry out evacuation of the Ciremai train’s condition.

As a result of this incident, the Maswati-Sasaksat track section is temporarily blocked and cannot be passed by train journeys. KAI is also continuing to coordinate with related parties to accelerate the handling process.
