Landslide in West Bandung Cancels Several Trains to and from Jakarta
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta has revealed the impact of a landslide on the railway line in West Bandung on train services to and from Jakarta. Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that the incident has caused serious disruptions to several train journeys. “The incident has resulted in several train services experiencing delays and cancellations,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Several train journeys to and from the Jakarta region have been cancelled and operations disrupted. In addition, Train Parahyangan number 140 on the same route, scheduled to depart at 23.05 WIB, is also not operating. Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen Station, Train Serayu number 288 on the Pasar Senen–Bandung–Purwokerto route, scheduled to depart at 19.25 WIB, has been cancelled. For journeys to Jakarta, Train Parahyangan number 139 on the Bandung–Gambir route, which was due to depart at 19.25 WIB from Bandung, has also been cancelled. On the other hand, several train services are experiencing significant delays, requiring passengers to be redirected to other modes of transport. Train Serayu number 283 on the Purwokerto–Bandung–Pasar Senen route is held at Sasak Station, and all passengers have been redirected by bus to Jakarta. Meanwhile, Train Papandayan number 129 on the Garut–Gambir route is held at Padalarang Station, with all passengers redirected to the Whoosh high-speed train to Jakarta. Customers affected who do not wish to continue their journey, as well as those whose train services have been cancelled, can cancel their tickets via the Access by KAI application, ticket box, or station counters that handle online ticket sales. “KAI has taken swift and anticipatory measures by redirecting customers to other modes of transport, such as the Whoosh high-speed train or buses, to ensure journeys can continue to their destinations,” he said. In addition, KAI is providing Service Recovery (SR) to affected customers experiencing delays, in the form of mineral water, light snacks, or full meals in accordance with applicable regulations. Franoto emphasised that the safety of the journey remains KAI’s top priority in all conditions.
