Landslide Blocks Access to Cadas Pangeran Road in Sumedang
Heavy rain that occurred on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday (8/4/2026) caused a landslide on Cadas Pangeran Road in Sumedang Regency, West Java. As a result, access for two-wheeled, four-wheeled, and large vehicles cannot be traversed. Two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, as well as large vehicles, are directed to take alternative routes. Meanwhile, officials are still working to evacuate the landslide material. “The landslide has closed all access to lower Cadas Pangeran Road until 19:00 WIB, with rain still ongoing,” according to a statement from the Sumedang Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Wednesday (8/4/2026). The Sumedang BPBD has asked the public to seek alternative routes because follow-up landslides are still occurring in the landslide area. Furthermore, landslide handling will use heavy equipment. Information gathered indicates that access for two-wheeled and large vehicles has been diverted to the Pamulihan Toll Road. West Java BPBD Public Relations Expert Hadi Rahmat confirmed the landslide blocking access to Cadas Pangeran Road in Sumedang. He stated that Sumedang BPBD officials are carrying out handling efforts. “Sumedang BPBD is handling it, the West Java Provincial BPBD team is heading to the location,” he said when confirmed.
