Landslide at The Yoga Barn Cuts Off Access to SDN 2 Peliatan, Gianyar

Road access to SDN 2 Peliatan on Jalan Sukma Kesuma, Gianyar, Bali, was cut off on Tuesday (February 24th, 2026). The small alleyway serving as access to the school was blocked due to a landslide at The Yoga Barn spa.

“It happened at 4 a.m. There was no one around, only me on night duty,” said The Yoga Barn’s security guard, Sapta Wira Yuda, when interviewed by detikBali at his workplace on Tuesday evening.

Yuda said that before the landslide, the land with a toilet building on the eastern side of The Yoga Barn had been tilting for about a week. Therefore, access to the alleyway leading to SDN 2 Peliatan was immediately closed.

The heavy rain that had been falling for the past few days further worsened the condition of the land near the motorcycle parking area at The Yoga Barn. Finally, at 4:00 a.m. local time, the land collapsed.

“The roof of the toilet building had already been partially dismantled for renovation. But before it could be completed, the heavy rain came, and the land slid,” said Yuda.

Ubud Police Chief Kompol I Wayan Putra Antara said that there were no casualties in the incident. The estimated material losses are Rp 50 million.

“The incident did not cause any casualties. There was only material loss of Rp 50 million,” said Antara.

Antara said that access for students of SDN 2 Peliatan had been diverted to the parking area of The Yoga Barn for about a week. There is an access road on the south side of The Yoga Barn’s parking area.

“Access is provided from the front (entrance of The Yoga Barn) to the school,” he said.

Not only access to SDN 2 Peliatan was affected. Access to SMPN 1 Bangli was also disrupted due to the landslide.

“There was land erosion at SMPN 1 Bangli,” said the Head of the Bangli Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), I Wayan Wardana.
