Landslide at Bantargebang landfill buries trucks and warungs; three dead

A landslide occurred in Zone 4 of the Bantargebang Final Disposal Site (TPA) landfill in Bekasi, West Java. Three people were found dead after being buried by the slide. The incident was reported to have occurred in the late afternoon at around 15:29 WIB. At the time, many trucks and several people were at the site. Desiana Kartika Bahari, head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, said a joint team was on site to conduct casualty data gathering and rescue operations. She noted that there were numerous trucks and warungs at the location. The USS Bekasi team arrived at the site and immediately coordinated with relevant agencies and other on‑site resources. The number of casualties was still being tallied.
