Land Subsidence at Bogor Resident's Home Threatens Occupant Safety

Land subsidence has occurred at a resident’s home in Pasir Muncang Village, Caringin District, Bogor, West Java. The incident threatens the safety of the occupants if not handled immediately.

The Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), M Adam Hamdani, stated that the event took place on Friday (3/7/2026). The cause is suspected to be water seepage eroding the surface soil.

"The land subsidence inside the resident’s house was caused by water seepage eroding the soil beneath the surface and forming a cavity. This has the potential to endanger the house’s occupants," Adam said on Saturday (4/7/2026).

Officers conducted a disaster assessment after receiving a report of the incident on Saturday morning. Five people are at risk if the land subsidence expands.

"The affected victims are one housing unit that suffered minor damage, with five people inside," he stated.

As of now, the damage to the house has not been repaired. Further action is needed to prevent the subsidence from spreading.

"The current final situation is that the subsided land has not been repaired by the owner. Further handling is required from the relevant agencies. If rain falls again, it is feared the damage could spread," he said.
