Land Dispute in East Flores, NTT, Erupts into Clash, Leaving Three Dead
A clash triggered by a customary land dispute between residents of Narasaosina Village and Waeburak Village in Adonara Timur, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), erupted again on Saturday (18/7). The incident resulted in three fatalities, four injuries, and 20 houses burned down.
East Flores Police Chief AKBP Adhitya Octorio Putra confirmed the incident. He stated that the clash began with a brawl between youth groups from the two villages around 6:30 a.m. local time.
βThe trigger was a customary land dispute between Narasaosina Village and Waeburak Village,β Adhitya said when contacted.
He explained that the brawl then escalated into a larger conflict involving residents from both villages. The three deceased victims have been evacuated to the Adonara Pratama Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
