Land Cruiser Linked to Kuansing Regent Bribery Case Arrives at KPK Storage

A Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300, allegedly given as a bribe to Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby, has arrived in Jakarta. The luxury SUV is now parked at the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) storage facility in Cawang. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the vehicle, transported from Pematangsiantar via towing service, arrived on Wednesday morning. The KPK will manage and maintain the vehicle to preserve its physical condition and economic value. This step aims to prevent asset depreciation due to technical damage or physical decline, ensuring that if the vehicle is later auctioned or utilised according to legal provisions, it will provide optimal added value for the state and the public.

The black vehicle was discovered by KPK investigators during a search of a warehouse in Pematangsiantar between 4 and 6 July 2026. Budi explained that the Land Cruiser is evidence of a bribe given by suspect Zulkarnain to suspect Suhardiman Amby, and it had been hidden in a vehicle storage warehouse with its number plates changed. The KPK previously revealed that Suhardiman attempted to conceal the vehicle by selling it after realising he was being monitored by the commission. The acting Director of Investigation, Achmad Taufik Husein, said the vehicle was sold to a showroom owned by a private individual named Suwito, who was among those detained during the sting operation on 29 June. The KPK has also seized electronic evidence of the instalment payment transactions for the purchase of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S, which was used as a bribery instrument by Zulkarnain for Suhardiman. The KPK has named three suspects in the case: Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles, the director of PT MIC.
