Land Bank Agency Prepares 778 Hectares of Land for Low-Income Housing in 12 Regencies

The Land Bank Agency is preparing 778.95 hectares of land across 12 regencies to support the Housing Programme for Low-Income Communities (MBR), aiming to achieve national residential development targets. This strategic move serves as tangible support for the ‘3 Million Houses Programme’ launched by President Prabowo Subianto through the provision of appropriate and sustainable land.

The Deputy for Strategic Planning and Land Acquisition at the Land Bank Agency, Perdananto Aribowo, explained that this support is provided through the Land Management Rights (HPL) scheme. Currently, the land distribution covers regions in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.

“To support the MBR Housing Programme, the Land Bank is also preparing 7lar 778 hectares located in 12 regencies,” said Perdananto, as reported by Antara on Monday.

In detail, the 12 regencies are spread across three locations in Sumatra, five in Java, one in North Penajam Paser (Kalimantan), and three in Sulawesi, including Poso, Sigi, and Bolaang Mongondow. Perdananto added that the agency has been coordinating intensively with relevant ministries for field implementation.

“We have held meetings with the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) regarding MBR housing that has already been constructed in Kendal and Batang,” he stated.

The HPL land offered to housing developer investors is guaranteed to comply with spatial planning regulations for residential and settlement purposes. This programme has been designated as a National Strategic Project (PSN) with the objective of providing more affordable subsidised housing for the public.

The Land Bank Agency reaffirmed its commitment that the construction of MBR housing will focus not only on quantity but also on quality. This aligns with the Head of State’s directive that the development of subsidised housing must adhere to feasibility standards to ensure it does not disadvantage the poor, thereby fostering social justice through decent housing.
