Land Bank Agency Aims to Double Managed Land by 2026

The Land Bank Agency (BBT) is targeting a twofold increase in its managed land area by 2026. This objective was stated by the Deputy of Strategic Planning and Land Acquisition of the BBT, Perdananto Aribowo, during a meeting with Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (18/05/2026).

“In 2026, the Land Bank Agency targets 35,000 hectares,” he said. According to him, the most significant growth occurred in 2024, with an increase of approximately 79 per cent compared to the previous year. While growth is expected to continue into 2025, it is projected to slow down to 5 per cent. Consequently, the total managed land is expected to reach approximately 70,000 hectares.

The BBT is also preparing 778 hectares of land across 12 regencies for subsidised housing intended for Low-Income Communities (MBR). This land is being prepared through the support of Land Management Rights (HPL) for public housing programmes. He noted that the prepared land is distributed across various regions in Indonesia, ranging from Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan to Sulawesi.

The distribution of BBT land for subsidised housing includes:

• North Sumatra

• Riau Islands

• West Java

• Central Java

• East Kalimantan

• North Sulawesi

• Central Sulawesi
