Pekanbaru (ANTARA) - The Pekanbaru City Land Agency in Riau Province has reported that progress on land acquisition for the Pekanbaru-Rengat toll road project has reached 90 percent, with the remainder in the final stages of resolution.

The Head of the Land Acquisition and Arrangement Division of the Pekanbaru City Land Agency, Aribudi Sunarko, stated that the remaining obstacles are mostly administrative, such as the need for land plot map changes, missing population documents like ID cards, and incomplete certificates of ownership for residents’ land that will be compensated by the state.

“Nevertheless, these issues are considered non-fundamental,” he said in Pekanbaru on Thursday.

He explained that administrative completeness is crucial because it relates to the disbursement of compensation funds through the State Asset Management Agency (LMAN) under the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). Precision is required since the funds used are state money.

He added that among the land to be compensated, there are assets owned by the Pekanbaru City Government, namely a nursery site (tree seedling land) belonging to the Environmental and Cleanliness Agency (DLHK). According to regulations, government asset replacement is not done in cash.

“Instead, government asset replacement is carried out through a land swap mechanism or the provision of replacement land,” Aribudi said.

Some replacement land has already been made available near the nursery location. However, he continued, there is still approximately Rp3.5 billion in remaining funds that must be promptly realised in the form of purchasing replacement land.

“We target that within the next two weeks, the replacement land location can be determined. This will be coordinated with the mayor as it concerns land acquisition priorities,” Aribudi stated.

It is known that the Pekanbaru-Rengat Toll Road is planned to be built along 206.67 kilometres, connecting the Pekanbaru area to Rengat in Indragiri Hulu Regency.

This is part of the Pekanbaru Ring Road Toll that connects to the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll and Pekanbaru-XIII Koto Kampar Toll.
