Lanal TBK Arrests Drug Smuggler Posing as Fisherman from Malaysia
The Indonesian Navy’s Tanjung Balai Karimun Naval Base (Lanal TBK), operating under Regional Command IV (Kodaeral IV), has thwarted a drug smuggling operation originating from Malaysia. The suspect, identified by the initials AK, attempted to evade detection by posing as a fisherman. AK confessed to authorities that he was promised a payment of Rp40 million by a Malaysian citizen, known only as H, to deliver the illegal narcotics to the Karimun area. The suspect was apprehended by the Lanal TBK Quick Reaction Team (TRC) in the waters northeast of Takong Iyu Island, located in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.
