LAN to Integrate Anti-Corruption Material into Civil Servant Performance Assessments

The National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) will integrate anti-corruption material into the performance assessment process for state civil servants (ASN) in a bid to strengthen integrity and anti-corruption culture. LAN Chairman Muhammad Taufiq stated that anti-corruption material will be delivered in stages, from prospective ASN candidates to senior leadership officials, through various education and training programmes. “Through this new policy, knowledge of anti-corruption will become part of the learning process as well as the performance assessment of ASN,” Taufiq said following the national launch of the ASN Berintegritas (Integrity ASN) e-learning platform at the LAN office in Jakarta on Tuesday. He stressed that anti-corruption education must be applied from the very beginning of a person’s career as an ASN. This is to ensure that the individual has a strong foundation of integrity and understands the risks of ethical and legal violations. “Anti-corruption material is taught from the time a person is still a prospective ASN until they attend the highest level of leadership training,” he said. Taufiq added that understanding of practices classified as corruption must be continuously strengthened among ASN. “We want to reinforce ASN’s understanding of various forms of violations that are often considered trivial. For example, in some cases, ASN who were arrested for corruption thought that what they received was just an ordinary gift,” Taufiq explained. He expressed hope that this measure would help build ASN who are professional, trusted by the public, and capable of supporting the realisation of clean governance. “We hope this can be a breakthrough in building ASN that the public can trust,” he said. On the same occasion, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Setyo Budiyanto targeted the implementation of the Integrity ASN e-learning programme for approximately 6.7 million civil servants. Setyo explained that the programme had been piloted in 12 agencies in 2026 and expanded to 10 other agencies. He said the KPK and other relevant agencies will continue to make improvements in the implementation of the e-learning. “We hope the implementation will get better. Existing shortcomings will continue to be fixed so that the results are maximised,” he said. Setyo expressed hope that the target of implementing integrity learning for all ASN, planned for completion by 2029, can be accelerated through collaboration between various ministries, agencies, and regional governments.
