Lamsel Regency records hundreds of homes affected by floods after heavy rain
Lampung Selatan (ANTARA) – The Lampung Selatan Regency government, through the Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), said based on provisional data, 444 homes of residents were affected by flash floods in Jati Agung District on Friday (6/3). The regent of Lampung Selatan, Radityo Egi Pratama, said that dozens of families were forced to evacuate at the KDMP Margo Agung building for safety. He instructed the district heads and related agencies to immediately compile a census of all affected residents to enable fast and accurate response. ‘I ask the camat to promptly data all residents affected by the floods so that assistance can be delivered quickly and accurately. To those currently in evacuation shelters, I hope you remain patient and continue to look after your health,’ he said. Consequently, he assured that the local government would immediately distribute aid to affected residents, including clean drinking water to help residents clean their flood-damaged homes. ‘We will send aid, including clean water to assist residents in cleaning their flood-damaged houses. The most important thing at present is to ensure the community is safe, healthy, and that their food needs are met,’ he stated.
