Lampung's PM AAS target reaches 35,100 hectares in 2026

Lampung Province has been given a target of implementing the Advanced Agriculture System Modern Agriculture Programme (PM AAS) across 35,100 hectares by December 2026.

“In Lampung Province, up to December 2026, we have been assigned a PM AAS target of 35,100 hectares, so support from all parties is needed to ensure the target is achieved,” said Endro Gunawan, Head of the Agricultural Assembly and Modernisation Agency (BRMP) for Lampung, in Central Lampung on Thursday.

He said PM AAS is a priority and flagship government programme being implemented in all provinces across Indonesia.

“PM AAS is a modern rice cultivation system that utilises technology, data, mechanisation and precise management to increase productivity, efficiency and business sustainability,” he said.

There are six main principles of PM AAS being applied: dense planting in rows, resource efficiency, agricultural mechanisation, corporate-based operations, production intensification and location specificity.

“Lampung’s PM AAS target of 35,100 hectares will be implemented across 15 regencies and cities, starting from June to December 2026,” he said.

He said an economic analysis of PM AAS implementation has also been carried out, showing that with average production of 10 tonnes per hectare, income of Rp65 million per season can be obtained, assuming a government purchase price (HPP) for unhusked rice of Rp6,500 per kilogramme.

“The main keys to success are optimal land preparation, irrigation and fertilisation, control of plant pests and diseases, and farmer cohesion in cultivation. This will increase production, raise incomes and maintain sustainable food self-sufficiency,” he added.
