Lampung's Digital Economy Accelerates, QRIS Transactions Reach Rp1.87 Trillion
The Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, has highlighted the rapid adoption of digital financial services within his region. According to him, the high usage of digital transactions must be balanced with an increase in public financial literacy, particularly among the younger generation.
Rahmat revealed that, based on data up to April 2026, the number of QRIS merchant users in Lampung Province has reached 889,000. This figure is considered significant when compared to the total number of families in Lampung, which stands at approximately 2.7 million.
“The number of QRIS merchants in Lampung Province—this is digital. Are you all using QRIS here? 8t89,000. Do you know? The number of families in Lampung Province is 2.7 million. One-third of those families, in terms of composition, possess a QRIS merchant,” Rahmat stated during the Lampung Financial Festival 2026 on Saturday (5/9/2026).
Beyond the number of users, the value of QRIS transactions in Lampung has also recorded significant figures. Rahmat noted that the transaction volume reached 22.4 million instances, with a total value reaching Rp1.87 trillion.
In his view, the scale of these digital transactions reflects the continuously evolving economic activity of the community. However, he emphasised that the increase in digital transactions should also drive economic growth and public welfare.
“This growth is very high, everyone. What does this mean? The transactions are very large, but what we want is for these large transactions to be accompanied by economic growth. For all of you, you should enjoy QRIS, as payments can be made and funds can be received,” he said.
Consequently, Rahmat expressed hope that the public would not only be technologically savvy and digitally literate in finance but would also possess the ability to manage finances wisely, ranging from saving and investing to establishing businesses.
“This is what we will learn. It is our duty, as the younger generation, to learn how to manage finances, how to invest, and how to start businesses,” he added.
