Bandar Lampung (ANTARA) - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) have conducted trauma healing for residents affected by flooding in Way Halim Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City. “The Polda Lampung Psychology Team has been deployed to carry out trauma healing for the flood-affected community,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Lampung, Senior Commissioner Yuni Iswandari, in a statement received in Bandar Lampung on Wednesday. She explained that the trauma healing team not only provides psychological support and mental assistance to the post-disaster community but also distributes dozens of basic food aid packages as a form of care and support to ease the burden on residents after heavy rains caused flooding. “The presence of the police psychology team aims to help restore the psychological condition of the community, especially children and the elderly, who are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety or trauma due to the sudden flood disaster,” she said. “Polda Lampung is present not only through security and assistance but also through a humane psychological approach,” she added. According to her, this trauma healing is a manifestation of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) concern for the mental health of disaster-affected communities so that they remain strong and spirited. “We also distributed basic food aid as a form of attention to the community’s needs. We hope this activity will provide benefits and somewhat lighten the burden for our brothers and sisters,” she stated. She further emphasised that Polda Lampung will continue to synergise with the local government to accelerate the post-disaster recovery period.
