Lampung pupils lack chairs

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: The public elementary school in the
Tulangbawang subdistrict does not have enough chairs, forcing
pupils to take turns sitting down.

Sudirman Subing, chief of the education and culture ministry's
local office, said here on Saturday that the government will
provide more equipment once the school is renovated.

The renovation, which is being carried out in other schools in
the area, is expected to be completed by April 1997, he said as
reported by Antara.

The Tulangbawang elementary school has nearly 100 students.
