Tempo – The Secretary General of Lampung Province, Marindo Kurniawan, inspected the construction of the Lampung Provincial People’s School in the new city area on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. The inspection was conducted to ensure the readiness of supporting facilities for the National Strategic Programme (PSN) while pursuing the on-time completion of the project.

“We want to ensure that the progress of this People’s School construction is on schedule. The Lampung Provincial Government, through the Social Services and Public Works Department, with strict oversight from the Central Government, continues to monitor its development,” said Marindo.

According to him, the inspection was not only focused on the main building construction but also on the readiness of supporting infrastructure in the surrounding area. “We ensure the readiness of support such as roads, lighting (lamps), waste management, and other facilities are 100% ready,” he said.

Based on physical progress data, the People’s School construction has currently reached 38%. The government targets the project progress to reach 50% in early May 2026 and to be fully completed in the third week of June 2026.

“Hopefully, by the third week of June, it can already be operationalised. After that, we will enter the stage of new student admissions, because the teaching and learning process is targeted to start in early July,” said Marindo.

The People’s School Field Director, Adi, explained that the project is funded by the Ministry of Public Works and People’s Housing and is carried out by a joint operation of PT Brantas Abipraya with PT Sumber Bangun Sentosa on a land area of 95,478 square metres.

The People’s School complex will later be equipped with various facilities, starting from a multi-purpose building, mosque, guest house, boys’ and girls’ dormitories for primary to high school levels, canteen, to sports facilities such as an athletics field and basketball court.
